I once thought that I didn't have the time to read. That was a sorry excuse for staying ignorant, broke and a down right poor roll model for my children.
 
Jim Rohn, perhaps the world's leading motivator and speaker says you can judge a person's bank account by the size of his/her library. Marketing guru Dan Kennedy says he's observed that people with tiny bank accounts tend to have no libraries, but they usually have big TVs.
On average, I read 1-2 books every week and I suggest you do the same. These are some of my favorites. However, let me caution you. Reading love stories, science fiction, Sports Illustrated or any books like these may be nice entertainment but will do nothing for most people in the way of self improvement. If you want to take a vacation from reality every few months and settle into one of these type of books fine, but if you want to work on you, try the following:

  • QBQ! The Question Behind the Question by John G. Miller What to really ask yourself to eliminate blame, complaining and procrastination.

  • Be a People Person by John Maxwell A book of help for personal growth

  • Eat That Frog by Brian Tracy 21 Great ways to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done in Less Time
  • I honestly believe that if you apply Brian Tracy's "Law of Three" (page 47) you will absolutely become everything you desire to become, increase your income and become more successful than you could possibly imagine! If this book is not in your library or purchased today; "Shame on you!"

     

  • Do The Right Thing by James F. Parker How Dedicated Employees Create Loyal Customers and Large Profits
  • Written by the former CEO of Southwest Airlines. There is a quote on the back cover that says: It will forever change the way you view the employees in your organization. I agree with it! Buy it, read and reread it until you apply it.

     

  • The One Minute Manager by Kenneth Blanchard and Spencer Johnson Three easy-to-master management techniques that are guaranteed to change your life.

    Good reading but not for the faint of heart or shallow faith. These books are for those who enjoy bold and in your face reading.
  • Shut Up, Stop Whining & Get a Life by Larry Winget In-Your-Face, to the point, bold book. I love his style!

  • It's Called Work for a Reason! by Larry Winget Larry's Style is harsh but true. If you get your feelings hurt easy this may not be for you

  • Where have all the Leaders Gone by Lee Iacocca "Bold as well, a bit of rough language in it, if you can get by that, it is a good read"
